Cookie Policy

Last updated: January 1, 2025

Good news: we keep it minimal. expand.gg uses strictly necessary cookies only, plus one third-party cookie from Tally for our waitlist form. No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or session state. Cookies can be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by external services we use).

2. Cookies we use

Here is a complete list of all cookies used on expand.gg:

We do not use any of the following: Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or any other tracking technologies.

3. Why we use these cookies

The Tally cookie is used solely to power our waitlist popup — specifically to prevent it from appearing again once you have already submitted your email or dismissed it. Without this cookie, the popup would reappear on every page load.

This use falls under the strictly necessary and functional categories as defined by CNIL guidelines, meaning it does not require explicit consent under French law. However, we disclose it here in full transparency.

4. Your choices

You can control and manage cookies in several ways:

Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the functionality of the website.

5. No consent banner — why?

Under CNIL guidelines (France's data protection authority), a cookie consent banner is only required when non-essential cookies are used — such as analytics or advertising cookies. Since expand.gg currently uses only functional and strictly necessary cookies, we are not required to display a consent banner. If we introduce any analytics or advertising cookies in the future, we will update this policy and add an appropriate consent mechanism.

6. Changes to this policy

We will update this Cookie Policy if we introduce new cookies or third-party services. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
